Unearthing Our Roman History – Durobrivae and Edmund Tyrell Artis – 2019

Dr Stephen Upex will give an exciting first hand illustrated insight into the findings from the July 2019 excavations in the Roman Town. The excavation was carried out under the direction of Peter Guest, Mike Luke and Dr Stephen Upex. The organisations involved were Cardiff University, (Peter Guest) Cambridge University, (Dr Stephen Upex), the Nene Valley Archaeological Trust, (Dr Stephen Upex), Albion Archeology (Mike Luke) and Barbican Archaeological Associates.

Geoffrey Dannell of the NVAT will take a brief look at the life of Edmund Tyrell Artis, (1789-1847), the first excavator during the 19th century at this significant Roman Site.
